KIIT University, formerly Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, is a co-educational, autonomous university located in Patia, Bhubaneswar in the Indian state of Odisha. The University offers undergraduate and post-graduate courses in Engineering(KIITEE), Biotechnology, Medicine, Management, Law, Computer application, Rural management, Fashion, Film Studies, Journalism, and Sculpturing.

KIITEE (Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Exam) is a university level entrance examination organized by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT). It is organized for providing admissions in UG & PG engineering courses including BBA/BCA and MCA offered by this university. Admissions to all courses will be done only through KIITEE 2018 exam.

KIITEE 2018 is a University level examination. It will only be held for the intake of the candidates in KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.

*If the KIITEE 2018 admit card is not made available by April 5, all applicants need to write to KIIT between April 6-10, 2018 about the problem. The candidates need to give details of the KIITEEE 2018 application form as well along with the complaint.


The KIITEE 2018 Application Form for management programme is available in online mode. There is no application fee for the candidates, belonging to any of the categories. Candidates are required to fill the application form correctly and submit it.

To submit the application form, the candidate may follow the steps below:

  • Choose courses and click on ‘Submit’ button.
  • Read all the given instructions and then access ‘Apply Online’ button
  • In the application form, enter Personal Details, Centre Options, Qualification Details, and Address for Communication.
  • After submission of the application form, a page will be generated. Candidates have to note down the application number for future reference.
  • Candidates will be required to take a printout of the application form.
  • They have to paste two copies of their recent passport size photograph, put their signature and their Parent’s/ Guardian’s signature.
  • After filling the application form, candidates have to submit it along with required documents to: The Director, Admissions, KIIT University, Koel Campus, Bhubaneswar – 751024, Odisha, India
  • The KIIT University will conduct KIITEE 2018 from April 15 to April 24, 2018.


Candidates should check the eligibility criteria before applying:

Courses Eligibility
B.Tech Candidates must have passed or appeared in 10+2 exam with minimum 60% marks in PCM group.
For B.Tech (Dual Degree), must have passed the 12th exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology/Biotechnology subjects with at least 60% marks.
Must have born on or after 01 July 1996.
B.Tech (Lateral Entry) Pass in three years diploma course in Engineering with minimum 60% marks.
Candidates should have born on or after 01 July 1993.
B.Tech in Architecture Pass in the 12th exam with mathematics subjects securing minimum 60% marks.
Pass in NATA exam.
Must have born on or after 01 July 1996.
 MBA Graduates in any discipline with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education and minimum 50% aggregate marks (or equivalent CGPA).
BBA 12th pass in any stream with minimum 50% marks.
Should have any one of the subjects Mathematics /Business   Mathematics / Economics/ Statistics at 10+2 level.
Must have born on or after 01 July 1996.
BCA 12th pass from any stream with at least 50% marks and should have studied Mathematics at 10+2 level.
Must have born on or after 01 July 1996.
M.Tech (Lateral Entry) BE/B.Tech or equivalent degree in respective branches of engineering.
First class MCA/ M.Sc in (Comp/IT/ETC).
MCA/ MCA (Lateral Entry) Any graduate with at least 50% marks and should have studied Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level.
Should have born on or after 01 July 1993.

Exam Pattern

  • The exam will be conducted through CBT (Computer Based Mode).
  • Candidates will have 180 minutes to solve 120 multiple choice questions of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • The question paper will contain objective type question; each question is followed by four options.
  • For each correct answer, four marks will be provided.
  • One mark will be deducted for the wrong answer as the negative marking.
  • The question paper will be asked in the English language.

To ensure that you get good marks in this entrance exam, it is important to thoroughly go through all the topics covered in the syllabus.

Here are some things you need to keep in mind about the KIITEE exam pattern:

  • The language of instruction of the exam is English.
  • In each of the three sections, every question has four 4 answer options. Students have to select the suitable answer by clicking on the circle adjacent to the option which they think is correct.
  • Candidates can click on any question number and are free to attempt any question in any order. Please note that the question number gets displayed at the bottom of the screen. The question answered by the students gets marked Green and the unanswered/ skipped question number remain in blue colour.
  • If there’s any confusion or a doubt, students can mark a question for review by clicking on the “Mark for review button”. This question will be unmarked the moment the candidate comes back to the same question at a later stage and alters the answer.
  • Also, candidates can easily change the answer of any question by clicking on the question and amending its answer by inserting the appropriate answer.
  • Candidates can quickly move between sections as per their convenience.
  • The test gets closed automatically once the allotted time of 180 minutes is over.

Slot Booking

The examination of KIITEE is held in a window of multiple days and slots. Candidates are required to book one slot for themselves. The facility of slot booking is provided online and only registered candidates may avail it. Such is because the Application Number and the Date of Birth (as filled in the application form) are required to access the booking portal. After opening the portal the candidates will have to choose exam centre, date and slot. The KIIT entrance exam 2018 slot booking is an important procedure, as only after doing it admit card will be issued.

Admit Card

Admit Card will be hosted on the website after the candidates successfully finish the slot booking process. They have to give details of the Post Office, date of dispatch, receipt of postal dispatch, photocopy of the Application Form, one photograph, photocopy of 10th Pass Certificate / Mark sheet. The candidates have to download the admit card from the website and have to come with the printed copy to the examination center.

Admit Cards will not be dispatched in Hard Copy. Candidates must preserve the Admit Card till the admission process is over. It is compulsory to bring the admit card at the examination center.

KIITEE Examination Centres

The exam centers of KIITEE 2018 are nothing but a list of cities where the computer-based test (CBT) will take place. Please note that the KIITEE 2018 examination will be held in 60 major centres across India. Students need to choose their convenient city and KIITEE 2018 exam centre as per their preference carefully while filling the application form of KIITEE 2018. Once the information is entered, the particular exam centre cannot be modified.

Even during the process of the KIITEE slot booking, the automated system will by default allocate the address of the KIITEE exam centres 2018, which was submitted by the candidates while filling the application form. A comprehensive list of all KIITEE exam centres in the country is listed below. This list includes exam centres along with their codes and important instructions.

Things to keep in mind regarding KIITEE 2018 Exam Centres:

  • Students have to select two exam centres while filling up the KIITEE 2018 Application Form.
  • In case, there are few candidates for a particular Exam Centre, then the KIIT University has the right to cancel that Exam Centre; however, the candidates will be informed about such cancellations.
  • If cancelled, the students will be allotted their second preference for the KIITEE 2018 exam.

Students can check KIITEE 2018 Result through the website. A separate merit list will be prepared for all courses on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination. The rank card can be downloaded from the official website of the university or shall be sent to the qualified candidates.

As per the availability of seats in different courses, cut-off Rank for counseling will be notified. Candidates, having a rank above cut-off rank, shall be called for counseling. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks, inter-se merit of such candidates shall be determined as follows:-

B.Tech(4 Years): On the basis of marks obtained in Mathematics, then in Physics and then by age (preference to older candidates).
B.Arch:- On the basis of marks obtained in NATA.
B.Tech. (LE): On the basis of marks obtained in Mathematics, then in Basic Electrical Engineering and then by age. (Preference to the older candidate).
B.Sc. Nursing: On the basis of marks obtained in Biology, then in Chemistry and then by age (Preference to an older candidate).
BBA / BCA/Bachelor in Design (Fashion/Textile)/Bachelor in Film & Television Production /BA.LLB/BBA LLB/B.Sc.LLB/ Master of Mass Communication(Integrated): On the basis of Marks obtained in Mathematical Ability, then in Analytical Ability. Cut off Marks / Ranks

The cutoff of KIITEE 2018 will be determined by the evaluation of the result but will be disclosed along with it. The University will determine it to delimit the candidates for the admissions. The University will also announce the cutoff rank. To receive counseling letter, the rank secured by the candidate should be equal to or more than minimum qualifying score.

Below are some of the important points that the candidates must note about the Cutoff marks of KIITEE:

  • The KIIT University will also announce the cutoff rank for the candidates.
  • To receive counselling letter, the rank secured by the candidate should be equal to or more than minimum qualifying score.
  • Candidates who will score marks more than the cutoff marks would get listed in the Rank List of KIITEE 2018 and only those candidates will be eligible to appear for the counselling.
  • Candidates who will score more than the Cutoff of KIITEE 2018 will be allowed to take part in the admission process.
  • Candidates should check the cutoff marks of previous year exam to have an idea about current year’s cutoff.


According to the availability of seats, a cut-off rank will be released for the counseling. Candidates who have scored above than cut-off rank will be invited for the counselling process. The KIITEE 2018 Counselling will be strictly based on the merit list. Document verification will be done at the time of counselling. Candidates have to produce the original required documents at the time of counselling.

Documents required for counselling

On the day of counselling, students need to carry a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs 62,000 (it is inclusive of the counselling registration fee of Rs 6000) that is addressed to KIIT and is payable at Bhubaneswar. Please note that cash payments are not accepted, so it is compulsory that the candidates carry a DD with them.

KIITEE Admission 2018

Once the counseling procedure is done, students have to report to the allocated college at the given time. All the candidates have to bring along their allotment letter and important documents (in original) for verification purposes. If students do not report at the college at the given, then their seat is allotted to other candidates. Also, if the documents submitted by the candidates are incorrect, their candidature will also be canceled.
