It is conducted to fill seats for admission to First Year of Full Time Degree Courses of Technical Education (Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy and Pharm. D.). About MHT CET 2019

MHT CET 2019 was conducted on 2nd to 13th May 2019. The centres for writing the exam were in the major cities of Maharashtra like Mumbai, Mumbai Sub Urban, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurga, Jalgaon, Dhule, Nandurbar, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur, Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Osmanabad, Nanded, Parbhani, Latur, Hingoli, Buldhana, Akola, Washim, Amravati, Yavatmal, Wardha, Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli. The timings for the exam are from 10 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Greater than 2 lakh students appeared for the exam making it a highly competitive one. For non Maharashtra students centres were set up in cities in other cities like Ahmedabad (Gujarat); Bengaluru (Karnataka); Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh); Jaipur (Rajasthan); Kolkata (West Bengal); Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh); New Delhi (Delhi); Panaji (Goa); Patna (Bihar); Raipur (Chattisgarh); Ranchi (Jharkhand) and Shrinagar (Jammu and Kashmir).

Format of the Exam

MHT CET 2019 is an offline (Pen and Paper based) exam. The paper consists of four subjects. The four subject are divided among three papers. Paper 1 consists of 50 mathematics questions with 2 marks for each question. Paper 2 consists of physics and chemistry each subject consisting of 50 questions worth 1 mark. Finally, Paper 3 consists of biology (botany) and biology (zoology) each consisting of 50 questions worth 1 mark. The physics, chemistry and biology papers can be attempted in 3 languages i.e. English, Urdu and Marathi. Mathematics paper can be attempted in English only. There is no penalty for marking a wrong answer. One and half hour is allotted to answer each paper. Students opting for the engineering stream must write both papers 1 and 2. Students opting for Pharmacy courses must write paper 2 and either of paper 1 or paper 3.

MHT CET 2019 catered to almost all of the engineering and pharmacy colleges present in the state of Maharashtra. It covers most of the government as well as private colleges in Maharashtra. Thus this provides ample opportunities for the candidates to gain admission in the top colleges of their choice in Maharashtra. Barring IIT Bombay and NIT Nagpur seats in most of the other engineering and pharmacy colleges are up for contention. Reservation Policy

Reservation policy is followed for admission for admissions via MHT CET as per the rules of the Government of Maharashtra. 85 % of the seats in all the colleges are reserved for students from the state of Maharashtra and the rest 15 % is open for the students from all other states. Only students from Maharashtra can avail the benefits of caste- based reservation during the time of admission.

MHT CET 2019 Results

The results for the exam will be declared on the website itself. The result will be available via student login. Results won’t be individually mailed  or sent via post to any candidate. Pdf copies of the result will be available for the student to download for their reference. MHT CET provides the provision to appeal for revaluation in case of marks discrepancy for any student. For this purpose a draft of Rs.1000 and a written request must be sent within 4 days of result declaration to the commissionaire, State CET cell, Mumbai. The DD must be payable at Mumbai. The decision after revaluation will be final and binding.

 Counselling Process

A counselling process is conducted for the allotment of seats via MHT CET. The counselling process will begin in mid-June 2019 after the declaration of the results. The counselling for the pharmacy as well as the engineering seats are conducted separately. The counselling process consists of the following steps:

  1. Document Verification
  2. Photo Verification
  3. Signature Verification

The final allotment of the seats is based upon the ran of the candidate as well as the number of seats available.

The general category student must pay a counselling fees of Rs. 800. Reserved category and Students with physical disability from Maharashtra must pay a fee of Rs.600. NRI students must pay a fee of Rs. 5000.
