In this chapter, we learn about on polynomials with degree 2, which are known as quadratic polynomials. The chapter consists of word problems, solving quadratic formulas, finding roots of quadratic equations by factorization, finding the length of the side of a right triangle with hypotenuse, finding the root of equations using completing the square method, finding consecutive positive integers given a sum using the quadratic formula,

Chapter 5: Arithmetic Progression

The following are included in this chapter: the common difference, sequences, finding the nth term using the first term and the common difference

Chapter 6: Triangles

The following topics are included in this chapter: filling in the blanks exercises on the properties of geometric shapes, finding out whether two quadrilaterals are similar, finding out whether two lines are parallel within a shape, proving geometric statements using the dimensions of the given shape

Chapter 7: Coordinate Geometry

This chapter includes: finding the relation between x and y when the coordinates of two points are given, finding the perimeter of triangles, finding coordinates of the bisector of the line segment, finding the area of a triangle with specified vertices

Chapter 8: Introduction to Trigonometry

The following topics are included in this chapter: using Pythagoras’ theorem to determine trigonometric functions, calculating trigonometric functions, proving the identity when the specifications of angles are given

Chapter 9: Some Applications of Trigonometry

In this chapter we cover the following information: solving word problems using trigonometric functions, proving geometric statements using trigonometry

Chapter 10: Circles

This chapter includes: finding angles of shapes within a circle, using trigonometric functions and the properties of a circle, given a set of tangents to the circle, finding the angle of the shape within the circle

Chapter 11: Constructions

In this chapter: drawing line segments within specified lengths and ratio, and finding measure of specified parts, constructing geometric shapes with specifications, constructing tangents of a circle

Chapter 12: Areas Related to Circles

The following is included in this chapter: comparing perimeters of circles and squares to derive areas, finding areas of a circle that can be inscribed within a square, word problems that require drawing a circle in relation to its surroundings and finding the measurements of various parts of the circle, word problems requiring trigonometry to find angles

Chapter 13: Surface Area and Volumes

In this chapter, problem-solving is required to find the measurement of sides and edges of shapes, of the surface area and volumes of various shapes, when only certain dimensions are given. Three-dimensional shapes such as a cone, a cylinder, and cubes are covered in this chapter. Word problems are also given where shapes need to be drawn according to specifications and calculate dimensions.

Chapter 14: Statistics

This chapter covers the calculation of mean, median, mode through simple calculations and word problems.

Chapter 15: Probability

In this chapter, word problems are given to calculate the probability of mutually exclusive and non-exclusive events. In certain cases, specifications are given to calculate the favourable outcome for an event. Image Credits: Randy Glasbergen
