About the NEET examination

The NEET examination or the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is conducted under the aegis of the CBSE or the Central Board of Secondary Education. This test is held annually for students who are interested in pursuing Medicine and become a doctor. Once a candidate sits for this examination, based on their performance in the test, they will be given a rank, on which their admission will depend in the medical colleges depend. This admission depends on the rank cut off that are applicable in medical and dental colleges. Most of the government colleges of the country, occupy the higher ranks and the better your rank is, the higher are the chances that you will get admission in a good medical or dental school. The examination pattern of NEET

The NEET is an objective type examination in which the candidates will have to circle the correct answer on a provided OMR sheet. It is very important that candidates know how to use an OMR sheet from before. The examination will be mainly on three subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Biology (both Botany and Zoology). As far as the division of questions are concerned, 25% will be dedicated to Chemistry, 25% to Physics, 25% to Botany and 25% to Botany. Candidates will be given a total time of 180 minutes or 3 hours to complete the examination and there will be total 180 multiple choice questions. If a question remains un attempted or unanswered then candidates will neither gain or lose any mark. Since this is a competitive examination, it is very important to prepare yourself well, since you cannot afford to give wrong answers.
