New Medical Colleges Accepting NEET Scores:
The NEET is now being accepted by four more states for those who wish to secure admission into MBBS or Dental colleges within the state. This entrance exam makes the student eligible to take admission in 2200 MBBS and 300 BDS seats at 130 government medical and 30 dental colleges of India under 15% merit of All India quota seats. As with any entrance exam, based on the cut-off and the scores, a student is provided admission on merit into medicine. KG MU or the King George’s Medical University, for a while known as Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University, is a medical school located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It came into being after the upgrade of King George’s Medical College (established in 1911) into a university by an act passed by government of Uttar Pradesh on 16 September 2002. The University has capacity for 1250 undergraduates students (including 280 dental students) and 450 postgraduate students. The MBBS course takes four and a half years to complete and has an intake of 250 students each year. King George Medical University has been ranked among the top 5 medical colleges of 2016 by Outlook India, and is one of the best new medical colleges in the country.
FAAMC or the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital is the newest addition to the emerging medical education scenario in Assam. It is the fifth medical college in Assam. Situated in the culturally rich town of Barpeta, the hospital associated with the college has already been inaugurated on 11th February, 2011. It is hoped that the FAAMC will cater to the needs of people of Lower Assam and also would be able to bring new glory to the medical education in Assam. FAAMC is affiliated to the Srimanta Sankardev University of Health Sciences.
IGIMS or the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences an Institute under State Legislature Act. It is one of the main health care institutions in the state of Bihar. It is the only super specialist institute of Bihar. The institute provides education in medicine and conducts health and medicinal research. It got affiliation of medical college from MCI in September 2011. It has 100 MBBS seat. First batch started from October 2011. It is 3rd medical college in Patna and 10th in Bihar. It is recognized to provide degree of MBBS, MD, MS, M.Ch, DM, DNB and various paramedical degrees. On 12 July 2013, Medical Council of India (MCI) granted permission to IGIMS, Patna, to admit 100 students for its MBBS course in academic session 2013-14. Since then, it has carved a name for itself as one of the top new medical colleges in the country.
VIMS or the Vardhman Institute of Medical sciences, A Government Medical College, is situated in a serine and tranquil environment, Pawapuri, a place known far wide for its scenic beauty, abundance of Jain shrines, a holy place of pilgrimage for Jainism sect, the sanctum sanctorum “Jal Mandir” is located at approximate 100 KM south east from capital town Patna, well linked by road and rail. VIMS is a state of the art Medical College and Hospital situated on a sprawling area of 52 Acres of land. The first academic session of the college started in 2013-14 with admission of 95 students in 1st year MBBS course, while the existing capacity is 100 students each year.
GMC or the Government Medical College, Bettiah, came into existence in the year 2008. One of the best new medical colleges in the country, is a pride of the Government of Bihar. This institution has been permitted by the medical council of India (MCI), New Delhi to undertake admission of 100 Students to the MBBS Course in the year 2013. Subsequently the medical council of India after proper inspection and assessment again approved admission of 2014 and 2015 batch of students for 100 MBBS Seats. GMC, Bettiah is duly affiliated to Aryabhath Knowledge University, Patna. This institution undertakes the teaching and training of hundred students for under-graduate course of MBBS & is also going to start various para medical & para dental diploma courses shortly.
GMCRJN or the Government Medical College, Rajnandgaon, was established in 2014 – 15, to provide quality education and excellent medical training to its students. They have applied for affiliation to the Chhattisgarh Ayush Health Sciences University, Raipur, Chattisgarh. The 310 bed district hospital at Rajnandgaon is attached to the Government Medical College, Rajnandgaon in order to provide training and experience to its students.
NDMC or the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, Medical College, owned by Hindu Rao Hospital is all set to begin admissions to its MBBS programme.The Hindu Rao Medical College is affiliated to the Indraprastha university and has 50 seats for the MBBS course. Rs.7 crore has been spent on the infrastructure for labs, library and the classrooms. The Hindu Rao Hospital is situated on the ridge in the Civil Lines area of north Delhi. With recognition from MCI, NDMC becomes the third municipal corporation in the country to have a medical college after Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
SHKM GMC or the Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College, is situated on the outskirts of Nuh in Nalhar in Mewat district of Haryana state. It came into existence in 2013 through a Government of Haryana Legislative Act in 2013. The University imparts Undergraduate medical education (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery). The college is accredited by the Medical Council of India. It is 75 km from Delhi on National Highway 8, 47 km from Gurgaon and 57 km from Faridabad. The mission of the college is not only to provide knowledge but also to be an instrument in Global mentoring of medical students.
GSMCH or the Government Sivagangai Medical College and Hospital was started in the year 2012-13 in the Sivagangai District with an annual intake of 100 students for MBBS Course.The college was approved by Medical Council Of India and it is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Guindy, Chennai. This institution is located at Vaniyangudi village, Manamadurai road, about 4 km from the main town on the route to Manamadurai. It is situated in a land of 30 acres and was built at a cost of 114 crores. The first batch of 100 MBBS Students were admitted in August 2012. The Hospital houses a 500 bedded ward to treat in-patients. GSMCH accommodates all the broad specialty departments, pre and para clinical departments as per MCI norms.
GTMCH or the Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College and Hospital is a newly opened medical college operated by Government of Tamil Nadu. It started functioning by the year 2013. The primary undergraduate seats count was 100. It is situated in Thiruvannamalai Outer Ring Road in Vengikkal New town at Thirinjapuram Union, Thiruvannamalai District, Tamilnadu.
