The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) declared the Class 10 exam results 2018 on 9th May 2018. The PSEB Result 10th 2018 was declared on PSEB’s official website. The PSEB Class 10 examinations 2018 were conducted from 12th March to 31st March 2018 from 10 am to 1.15 pm. The practical exams were conducted from April 1 to 10, 2018.

According to official reports, approximately 3.68 lakhs students appeared for the PSEB Class 10 examination 2018 out of which around 2.19 lakh candidates cleared the examination taking the pass percentage to 59.47 percent.

Gurpreet Singh, a student of Shri Harikrishan Sahib Senior Secondary School in Ludhiana, topped the PSEB Class 10 examination with a score of 637 (98 percent). This year, a total of 1,04,828 girls cleared the exam, while 1,04,126 boys passed the board exam.

PSEB 10th result 2018 displays subject-wise and total marks secured by the students along with their division. PSEB also announces the merit-list, subject-wise pass percentage, list of toppers, and result statistics along with PSEB 10th result. The mark sheet is issued by the PSEB a few days after the declaration of result. The candidates have to collect the same from their respective schools.

According to media reports, this year for the first time the board has abolished the “marks moderation system”. The system allowed teachers to give grace marks to students to improve their final score thus resulting in a higher pass percentage.

The exam is conducted in June for those students who fail to clear the exam of one subject but pass the rest of their subjects. PSEB Results 10th 2018- Rechecking/Reevaluation

The answer sheets are revalued or rechecked by an expert committee and the marks secured by candidates after revaluation or rechecking are final.

Last year, the PSEB class 10th Board Result was declared on 25th May 2017. A total of 3,30,437 candidates appeared for the PSEB 10th examination, out of which 1,90,001 students cleared the exam. Shruti Vora scored 98.77% and bagged the 1st position in Class 10th Exams. The overall pass percentage was 57.50, which was around 4 percent higher than the previous year. The boys scored a pass percentage of 52.35%, whereas 63.97% of the girls were successful in 2017.

About the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB)

The Punjab School Education Board came into existence through a legislative enactment in November 1969 for the development and promotion of school education in the state of Punjab. In 1987, the Board was granted autonomy by the Vidhan Sabha through an amendment in the Board’s Act. The scope of the Board’s functions is very wide and covers almost every aspect/stage of school education in the state of Punjab. PSEB is responsible for making the necessary arrangements for a smooth conduct of public examination at the school level. Currently, the Board conducts public examinations at Middle, Matriculation, and Senior Secondary Level.

PSEB is also responsible for prescribing the curriculum, courses of studies, and textbooks for school education in Punjab. The Board has a full-fledged academic wing with subject experts in all the major subjects. The primary function of this wing is to prepare and revise the syllabuses regularly and then prepare textbooks accordingly.
