Sainik School Kunjpura

In 1961, the then Defence Minister of India V.K. Krishna Menon came up with the idea of Sainik Schools to reduce the class and regional disparity that existed among the Office Cadre of the Indian Military. Today, there are 25 such Sainik Schools present in India which are spread across many states of the country. The Sainik Schools were formed to inculcate academic, physical, and mental capabilities in young boys and to prepare them for training at the National Defence Academy Khadakwasla, The Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and develop them for other walks of life.

The Sainik Schools provide residential facilities to candidates and offer school education with a major thrust on Military training. All the Sainik Schools come under the purview of the CBSE Board, New Delhi and aim to instill noble qualities in the candidates such as a sound character, team-spirit, dedication to purpose, patriotism, and the desire to serve one’s nation.

Moving forward with our series on the various Sainik Schools in India, today, in this article, we’re focusing on the Sainik School Kunjpura and everything that you need to about it.
