The Class 9 Science subject has 5 units and a total of 15 chapters. The annual exam sample paper for Science will contain questions from all the chapters given in the CBSE class 9 textbooks. Given below is the paper pattern of the class 9 science paper.
Total Marks: 80 marks are dedicated to theory and 20 are for internal assessment.
Exam Duration: 3 hours.
Number of Sections: The question paper is of two sections viz. A & B.
Number of Questions: 27 questions.
1 Mark Questions: 3 questions.

General Instructions for Class 9 Science Question Paper
- The question paper consists of two Sections namely, A and B. You have to attempt both the sections.
- All the questions in the question paper are compulsory.
- All questions of Section– A and Section–B are to be attempted separately.
- Question number 1 to 3 in Section–A are one-mark questions. These are to be answered in one word or in a single sentence.
- Question number 4 to 6 in Section–A are two-mark questions. These are to be answered in around 30 words each.
- Question number 7 to 18 in Section – A are three-mark questions. These are to be answered in around 50 words each
- Question number 19 to 24 in Section – A are five-mark questions. These are to be answered in around 70 words each
- Question numbers 25 to 33 in Section – B are multiple choice questions based on practical skills. Each question is a one-mark question. You have to select one most appropriate response out of the four provided in the paper.
- Question numbers 34 to 36 in Section – B are questions based on practical skills. Each question is of two marks.
