SAT Test Centre

Once candidates have registered for the SAT, the next step is to check for the SAT test centre. When candidates select the test date, they must first check whether a test centre is available on that particular date. The test centre details can be checked once the student selects the country from where he will appear for the test.

From March 2016, the SAT test pattern has changed. According to the new SAT pattern, the exam will be scored on a total of 1600 while the Evidence-Based Reading/Writing and Math sections will each be scored on a 200 to 800 point scale. Although there is no change in the SAT test dates 2017, the duration of the test is now 3 hours, with an additional 50 minutes for the Essay, which is optional. The new SAT pattern has five components. They are:

    1. Evidence-Based Reading and Writing
    1. Reading Test
    1. Writing and Language Test
    1. Math
  1. Essay (optional)

SAT is a standardised test taken for undergraduate admission in United States. It is an internationally recognised test that evaluates a candidate’s knowledge in reading, writing and quantitative aptitude, and also other specialised subjects. Since it is taken for admission in colleges, students are advised to take the test when they are in junior or senior high school. In India, that would be equivalent to 11 and 12 standard.
