A well created time table that allows you to work on your weaker subjects, allots enough time to revision and mock tests, will ensure all areas are covered. It will also create a sense of discipline and seriousness in your self study for NEET. Just make sure that this time table is different from your regular studies.

Mock tests

Practice is the keyword for all entrance tests. Just like the board exams, there’s a pattern that such entrance tests follow. The more mock tests you take, the better you equip yourself with answering the paper. Stay sincere to self

You are not taking external coaching for your NEET 2018 preparations. So, there’s no one to monitor, supervise your progress; or take you to task if you’re lacking in any area. Remember, now that you’ve taken the plunge of self-study you ought to be sincere to yourself. You may find yourself straying mid-way. And that’s the time you got to remind yourself of your goal. Should such situations arise, do not feel shy to approach your teachers, parents, and peers. Little help doesn’t do any harm.

Work on weaker topics

Most students will identify with this. You may be very strong in one subject and relatively weak in the other. Don’t get demotivated. Work harder on the weaker subjects. You may consider taking guidance and help from seniors or teachers.

De-stress yourself

Pick an activity like a sport or a hobby that will take your mind off studies. Continuous studies will do no good to your brain and heart. It will only overburden you.

Be positive

Most important aspect of taking any challenge head-on is to be positive. Don’t get drained by studies. Eliminate anxiety from your system. As long as you know you have put in your best, you don’t have to worry. This positive approach will get you a confidence boost and eventually, realisation of your dream.

To recapitulate, self-study is certainly not the easy way out. But if you’ve chosen it at your will, you might as well make the most of it. Be sincere and work hard. And, if, at any point in time, you feel it is not working out, you must seek help. Do not hesitate. Reach out to the ones that can help. If you want to take up external coaching, do that without hesitation. After all, it’s your ambition to take up medicine as a career. Don’t risk it.
