  • Prescribing the Syllabus for the Exams
  • Devising Study material
  • Providing text books to students studying in affiliated schools
  • Granting recognition to Schools
  • Providing support and leadership for all secondary educational institutions under its jurisdiction
  • Improving the system of Evaluation

The Board is governed by the Commissioner for Public Instruction, Bangalore, who is the Chairman and the Director (Exams), KSEEB, Bangalore, who is the Executive Vice-Chairman.

How does KSEEB conduct exams?

One of the recent changes that the KSEEB has implemented is the conducting of the Supplementary examinations in the same year, for those students who have failed in their first attempt. While the actual exams are conducted in April of every year, those who have not passed may attempt for the second time in June of the same year. By doing this, students who succeed in the June exams have the chance to join higher education from July onwards, without wasting an academic year. This was introduced by KSEEB for the first time in the Nation and is a highly commendable task, which has received much accolade from the students and parents likewise.

There are lakhs of students appearing for these exams each year. According to the official website of the KSEEB, approximately 8.5 lakh students appear for the exams in April and 1.5 lakhs appear for the June exam. The board is also providing admission tickets with photographs that are being used in the repeaters admission ticket as well, creating another breakthrough and ensuring that the right candidate is taking up the exam. From the students’ end it avoids the time taken to reapply and this time can be used for studying more effectively.

The exams for SSLC were held according to the SSLC 2018 Time table given below:
