All KVs are affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE). They are co-educational schools. The quality of teaching is kept reasonably high by an appropriate teacher-pupil ratio. There is no tuition fee for boys up to Class VIII, girls up to Class XII and SC/ST students and children of KVS (KV Sangathan) employees. There is Nominal fees for boys of Unreserved Category above class VIII. These are government schools run KV Sangathan.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyalaya(JNV)
JNVs can be found in every district of the country. So, there are at least 10 JNVs in the state. JNVs are affiliated to CBSE. They are residential co-educational schools which means that you can get hostel facility in the school. But these schools take students after class V only. Students have to give an entrance test after class V to get admission into JNVs. Reservation in admission is there. Also, fees system is just like that of KVs.
