Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE 2018) is conducted by the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, which was formerly known as the UP Technical University (UPTU). This state-level exam is only meant for candidates who are permanent residents of UP. It is specially conducted to get admissions to the UG and PG programs like B. Tech/B. Arch /B. Pharm/ BHMCT/ BFAD/BFA/MBA/ MCA and MAM offered by the various institutes in UP. In this article, we bring you the eligibility, important dates & syllabus for the UPSEE 2018 exam.

UPSEE 2018-Minimum Eligibility Criteria

  • The first and foremost criteria is that the candidate should be a permanent resident of the state of UP.
  • For admission to UG courses, the candidate should have cleared class 12th or its equivalent exam from the UP board or any recognized university, with at least 45% marks (40% for candidates from the reserved category).
  • For admission to PG programs, the candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for candidates from the reserved category).
  • For admission to the B. Arch course, the candidate needs to have at least 50% marks in their 12th class (45% for candidates from the reserved category).
  • All candidates who are eligible for admission to B. Tech. Courses are also eligible for admission to B. Tech (Agriculture Engineering).

UPSEE 2018-Syllabus

Here’s the most critical part i.e. the syllabus for UPSEE 2018, which will be released by the APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, along with the information brochure. You must prepare for UPSEE 2018 according to the prescribed syllabus.

UPSEE 2018 syllabus has three papers for admission to various B. Tech programs:

  • Paper 1 is conducted for regular B. Tech courses.
  • Paper 2 is for B. Tech in Biotechnology.
  • And Paper 3 is for admission to B. Tech in Agriculture.

UPSEE Syllabus 2018

UPSEE/AKTU 2018 Syllabus will be announced by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). The test is aimed at evaluating the verbal ability, quantitative aptitude, logical & abstract reasoning and knowledge of current affairs. The following is a brief description of contents of the test paper.

Section A (English Language): Grammar, Vocabulary, Antonyms, Uncommon Words, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Relationship between Words & Phrases and Comprehension of Passages.

Section B (Numerical Aptitude): Numerical Calculation, Arithmetic, Simple Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Interpretation of Graphs, Charts and Tables.

Section C (Thinking and Decision Making): Creative Thinking, Finding Pattern strands and Assessment of Figures & Diagrams, Unfamiliar Relationships, Verbal Reasoning.

Statistics: Mean, Median, Mode, Theory of probability, Dispersion and Standard Deviation.

Logical Ability: Questions to test analytical and reasoning capability of candidates.

Paper 11 Syllabus: (Aptitude Test for 2nd year MCA (Lateral Entry))

Mathematical Structures: Modern Algebra and Matrices, Set Theory, Number Theory and Methods of Proof, Combinatorics and Probability.

Computing Concepts: Principles of Computer Science, Proposition logic and Boolean Algebra, Numerical Techniques, Theory of Computation.
