Previous years’ papers:
UPSEE paper pattern has contained 12 papers including those of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. You can check out our article on UPSEE exam pattern and another one for all the other information on the exam by clicking here. Each of the papers, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, consists of 50 questions.
An in-depth analysis of the Physics papers reveals shorter and more concept based questions. Even though the number of questions is higher than the other usual examinations, the questions are basically formula based barring few which are quite tricky. Solving those few tricky questions might just be your key to a better result and that needs practice.
The Chemistry paper has many of the organic chemistry equations, which demand a fair amount of practice on your part. However, being thorough with NCERT for the Chemistry syllabus may prove highly useful while preparing for this exam. Other Physical Chemistry questions do not limit themselves to NCERT and are slightly more tricky, some almost reaching the JEE level. Make sure to be thorough with all formulae, equations, and molecular structures.
Somewhat similar is the level of questions in the Mathematics section. While some problems are directly from NCERT and clearly formula based, others hold a much higher difficulty level. These problems clearly stand out from the rest and require greater practice on your end.
The previous year’s paper held the following marking scheme: Each question carries 4 marks with no negative marking. Incorrect method of filling of the OMR sheet may, however, lead to invalid answers.
That is all for now. You must surely check out the previous year’s papers 🙂 All the best!
