VIT University, formerly called Vellore Engineering College, is a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act. Founded in 1984, as Vellore Engineering College, by Mr. G. Viswanathan, the institution offers 20 undergraduate, 34 postgraduate, 4 integrated and 4 research programs. VITEEE is the yearly entrance examination conducted by VIT to offer admissions to the two campuses of VIT vis-a-vis VIT, Vellore & VIT, Chennai. VITEEE 2018 started from 5th April, 2018 and the last slot is the last slot of 16th April, 2018. VITEEE 2018 Answer Key
VITEEE results are out. VITEEE 2018 counselling procedure is out too. Answer keys will be provided subject-wise vis-a-vis Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology. It is popularly known that a candidate must score at least 90 Marks to secure a seat in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the Vellore Campus, in the first category itself. You can get the same seat, in 1st category, at VIT Chennai if your rank is around 12000. Let’s discuss a bit about these categories.
VITEEE Categories
VIT admissions follow four categories – 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th. As you move from a lower numbered category to a higher numbered one, your chances of landing a good department improve. The catch being that your admission fee goes up by 1 lac INR for a category jump. So, if your rank is 12000 you can either land a CSE seat at VIT Chennai through 1st category or land the CSE department at VIT Vellore, of course paying a higher fees. In this article we shall limit to category-1 VITEEE cut off.
VITEEE Cut Off – 1st Category
It is expected that if a candidate’s score lies between 70 & 80 marks, they’d get a call for first round of VITEEE counselling. The table below shows how your rank goes with your VITEEE score.
