West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will conduct WBJEE 2018 on April 22, 2018 for admissions into undergraduate courses in medical and engineering streams at universities, government colleges and self-financed institutes in West Bengal for the academic session 2017-2018. For admission to any degree course in Engineering/Technology or to grab WBJEE Medical Seats at government institutes, securing a rank in the WBJEE is mandatory. However, self-financed institutions may also admit candidates on the basis of JEE Main 2018 merit list. We bring you WBJEE Exam Pattern to help you prepare well for it.

Subsequent to the WBJEEM-2018 examinations, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board will publish the eligible candidates’ list and furnish the list to the Directorate of Medical Education, Department of Health & Family Welfare, West Bengal. Counselling will be done by the Directorate of Medical Education, Department of Health & Family Welfare through online method.

WBJEE Exam Pattern, 2018

The Mathematics paper will remain a 100 marks paper. The Biological Sciences paper will be a 150 marks paper. The Physics and Chemistry papers will be combined to a single 100 marks paper with 50 marks each for Physics and Chemistry. The WBJEE exam pattern is simple to remember.

Each paper will be of MCQ type containing three categories of questions.

Category 1:

(a). only one option is correct, correct response will yield one mark.

(b). for incorrect response, 25 percent of full mark (1/4) would be deducted and

(c). for more than one answer indicated against a particular question in the OMR sheet; the said answer will be treated as incorrect response/answer. Marks will be deducted on the basis of rule enumerated in Clause (b) above

Category 2:

(a). only one option is correct, correct response will yield two marks.

(b). for incorrect response, 25 percent of full marks (1/2) would be deducted and

(c). for more than one answer indicated against a particular question in the OMR sheet; the said answer will be treated as incorrect response/answer. Marks will be deducted on the basis of rule enumerated in Clause (b) above.

Category 3:

(a). more than one option may be correct and marking of all correct options only will yield two marks.

(b). for any combination of answers containing one or more incorrect responses, net mark awarded will be zero (0) and

(c). for partially correct response without any incorrect marking:

Marks awarded = 2 x (no of correct responses) / (total no of correct options)
