Overview

Class 5 English is very interesting and enjoyable to study. It contains wonderful poems and stories which teach students valuable lessons. Moreover, it also contains basic grammar lessons that strengthen the student’s vocabulary. They will learn about how the Ice-Cream Man is everyone’s favorite from this poem and the chapter of Wonderful Waste will teach the use of waste. Further, Unit 2 will deal with themes of teamwork, time management and collaboration through chapters of Teamwork and Flying Together. After that, Unit 3’s poem My Shadow will help students investigate the unknow and build curiosity. Similarly, the story of Robinson Crusoe Discovers a footprint that will give scientific analysis to overcome fears. Moreover, the poem Crying helps us look at the lighter side of life and My Elder Brother teaches how to respect elders. In addition, The Lazy Frog is an important poem encouraging us to not be lazy and do hard work. Further, Rip Van Winkle will teach students a lot about social behavior. Class Discussion and The Talkative Barber from Unit 6 will humor students a bit and explain about different types of people. Gulliver’s Travels is an adventurous story and Topsy-Turvy Land is also full of fantasy. After that, students will learn about friendship and Bullying through Unit 8 and about traveling maps, our busy lives through Unit 9. Finally, Malu Bhalu and Who Will be Ningthou? explains multilingualism, leadership and gender awareness amongst students.
