Eligibility Criteria for COMEDK

The eligibility criteria for COMEDK is different for Engineering and Architecture.
Engineering
  • Age:

    There is no age limit for this exam.

  • Subjects:

    You must have taken up Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in your 12th board or equivalent exam.You must have had one optional subject from Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or a Technical Vocational subject.

  • Score in 10+2 or equivalent exam:

    As a General category candidate, you must have secured a minimum aggregate of 45%.

    If you are an SC or ST category candidate, the minimum aggregate is 40%.

    Here is the list of equivalent exams.

  • Year of passing 10+2 or equivalent exam:

    There is no year limit for applying to this exam.You are also eligible for this exam if you’ve applied to a qualifying exam.

  • Aadhaar card requirement:
    You need a registered Aadhaar Card Number to be eligible to apply for JEE Main.
  • Number of attempts:

    There is no limit to the number of attempts in this exam.

    Ineligible candidates:

    If you’re a diploma candidate, you won’t be eligible as there are no lateral admissions.

Architecture
  • Age:

    There is no age limit for this exam.

  • Subjects:

    You must have taken up Mathematics as a compulsory subject in your 12th board or diploma recognized by the state or central government.

  • Score in 10+2 or diploma:

    As a General category candidate, you must have secured a minimum aggregate of 50%.

    If you are an SC or ST category candidate, the minimum aggregate is 45%.

  • Other exams:

    You must have cleared the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) with a minimum score of 80 out of 200.

  • Aadhaar card requirement:

    You need a registered Aadhaar Card Number to be eligible to apply.

  • Number of attempts:

    There is no limit to the number of attempts in this exam.

Registration for COMEDK

For a new COMEDK registration, you need to:
  1. Visit official COMEDK website
  2. Click ‘Apply to UGET’
  3. Click ‘Register for COMEDK UGET’
  4. Click ‘Here’
  5. Fill in your details
  6. Click ‘Submit’
Note the registration number for future reference.
You will then receive your ‘User ID’ and ‘Password’ on your mobile number and email ID.
Before filling the COMEDK form, keep soft copies of the below documents ready:
  • Your photograph
  • Your signature
  • Father’s or guardian’s signature
  • Your unique ID proof
After completing the registration process, you can fill the COMEDK form
  1. Log in with your User ID and Password
  2. Click ‘Edit’
  3. Fill in the following details like address, category, academic information, preference of exam centre
  4. Upload the scanned copies of your documents

Application Fee for COMEDK

The application fee is Rs. 1200

Note down the transaction ID for future reference purposes. Make sure you keep a printout of the application form as well.

Admit Card for COMEDK

Your COMEDK admit card contains the following details:
  • Your name
  • Your photograph and digital signature
  • Your postal address and contact details
  • Your unique photo ID proof details
  • Exam registration number
  • Test Admission Ticket number (TAT)
  • Exam application number
  • Test centre details
  • Test timings

You need to carry your admit card to the exam hall. You cannot take the test without it.

Exam Schedule for COMEDK

The computer based test is held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. You need to report 2 hours before the exam.

The exam hall is opened 60 minutes before the exam. You are not allowed to enter the hall after 9:30.

If you don’t appear on the scheduled date, a reexamination will not be conducted by COMEDK.

The COMEDK results are declared online at the end of May. No hard copy of the COMEDK scorecard is given out.

Based on your rank in the list, you can then attend the counselling session.

To check your COMEDK result, you need to:

  1. Visit the official website.
  2. Log in with your email ID and date of birth.
  3. Download your scorecard.
  4. Take a printout for further use.

Cut-off for COMEDK

Over 150 institutes will grant you admission if you qualify. Cutoffs vary according to the branch, the college and the category you apply in. They also depend on the below factors:

  • Number of applicants
  • Availability of seats
  • Difficulty of the question paper

Rank List for COMEDK

The COMEDK rank list is generated at the end of May. In case of a tiebreaker, the following method is applied to break the tie:

  1. The principle of least incorrect answers - in Physics, Chemistry and Maths - is taken into account.
  2. If the tie remains unbroken, the student who scored a higher aggregate in Physics and Maths is given a higher rank.
  3. If it still persists, the student who scored more in Mathematics is given a higher rank.
  4. As a last resort, the elder student is given a higher rank.

Counselling for COMEDK

Counselling is conducted by COMEDK - at Bangalore - on the basis of the merit list. If you place higher in the list, yodiv will be called first.

For your benefit, the counselling procedure has been explained below:

Step 1: Verification and submission of your documents
  1. Carry all originals and photocopies of all your documents
  2. Also carry a demand draft for payment
  3. Submit your photocopies to the person at the verification counter
Step 2: Registration
  1. Undergo the biometric, signature and photo verification process.
  2. Post verification, you will receive a registration slip.
  3. Now fill up the demand draft details and choose your course.
Step 3: Seat allotment
  1. The counselling will be conducted in multiple sessions.
  2. You will be notified of the schedule and your fees.
Step 4: Fee payment
  1. Once the document verification is over, you need to submit your photocopies.
  2. You also need to submit your demand draft, which should be drawn at any Nationalized Bank in favour of COMDEK (TAT No. XXXXX), payable at Bangalore for Rs. 55,000.
  3. You need to pay the remaining fees to the college on the day of your admission.
  4. After your seat allotment, you need to deposit the draft at the bank.
  5. You then need to obtain your fee receipt and the allotment letter.
