Motion Class 9 Revision Notes

This article deals with motion class 9 notes. Every day we notice some objects which are in a state of rest while others are in motion. Furthermore, one can notice motion in several aspects of life. Birds flying in the sky, fish swimming in the ocean, and water flowing in the river. All of these are examples of motion. Something as small as an atom or as big as a galaxy is all in motion. Moreover, one can detect motion when the position of an object changes with time. However, there are certain situations where indirect evidence detects motion. Evidence of indirect motion is the movement of air which we can observe from the movement of dust.

The motion refers to a change of position. Furthermore, one can describe motion by the distance traveled or displacement. Moreover, an object’s movement can be uniform or non-uniform. This depends on whether the velocity is changing or is uniform. Also, one can define the speed of an object as the distance covered per unit time. On the other hand, velocity refers to displacement per unit time. Acceleration is the change in velocity which takes place per unit time. One can certainly depict the uniform and non-uniform motions through the help of graphs. Equations are used to describe an object’s motion.
