Summary of CBSE Class 6 Social Science – History Chapter 4

The chapter is divided into two parts – Architecture and Agriculture. It starts with Harappa – which is known to be a 4700-year-old city. Lothal, Dholavira, Mohenjodaro, Kalibangan are some cities that come under Harappan Cities. All these cities were located around the Indus Valley.

There were two parts of Harappan cities – east and west. West was much larger compared to the east. East was known as Citadel and had all the public buildings, granaries, and religious buildings.

In agriculture, Harappans used to grow pulses, wheat, grains and more. The agriculture tools like plough were developed by Harappan. They also developed the method of irrigation. The cities like Mohenjodaro, Harappa, Lothal were used as storage for storing grains.
