- AKTU postpones the polytechnic semester-end exams along with the odd semester theory exams
- These exams were scheduled for December 23, 2019, and December 24, 2019
- The new exam dates are yet to be announced
Mumbai, Maharashtra: The Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), has announced the postponement of the polytechnic semester-end exams and the odd semester theory exams. These were scheduled to be held on December 23, 2019, and December 24, 2019. The recent unrest in the State due to the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is the probable reason behind this postponement.
AKTU is yet to announce the new dates for these exams. The university released an official notice which stated that the University Exams scheduled for December 23 and December 24, 2019, have been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. The notice also asked students to check back on the website for the new dates.
The unrest in the State has caused a lot of disruption in examination schedules this year. Earlier this month, the exams scheduled from December 19 to December 21, 2019, were postponed too. Recently, the university released a notice announcing the new dates for those exams.
The CAA protests have also led to a disruption of internet services in several districts of the State. As a result, many government recruitment exams have also been postponed like the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) which was scheduled for December 22, 2019.
Students are confused about the correct examination schedule due to these postponements. In case of no internet connectivity, students are advised to visit the university campus and confirm the exam dates. The university plans to call a meeting on December 24, 2019, to discuss the new dates. Students are hoping that the new exam dates do not clash with the dates of some competitive exams scheduled during the same period.
