Highlights for CA Exam:
The ICAI has announced flexibility in CA November 2020 exams. This means students can opt-out of the exam and their candidature, application fees and other details will be forwarded to the May 2021 exams. Decision was taken citing COVID-19 safety.
Mumbai, Maharashtra: The Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI) has announced an opt-out facility for students who were going to appear in the CA November 2020 exam.
The announcement comes after many students made requests due to the COVID-19 safety considerations. The opt-out option will allow students to carry forward their candidature, application fee and other details to the second half of January 2021 or first half of February 2021.
Further, they will release the CA Exam 2020 complete schedule in December 2020. Nonetheless, the option of opt-out is available to certain people only. They must fulfill the conditions given below, any time up to the conclusion of exams:
- If they are COVID positive presently or have any symptoms.
- If their family members or people they are staying with are COVID-19 positive or become COVID-19 positive.
- If the area they reside in has been declared as a Containment Zone by the Central Government/State Government/Local Authorities.
If you wish to avail the opt-out option, you need to submit the declaration on the official website at icaiexam.icai.org. It will be available from 7 November 2020.
After the submission of the declarations, candidates will be given the option to cancel their November 2020 cycle I application and shift it to the November Tranche-II cycle or in the May 2021 cycle. ICAI will adjust the examination fee for these students and only some differential fee will be charged.
Moreover, the CA November 2020 exam will start from 21 November 2020 for the rest of the students. To appear for the May 2021 exam, the students opting out of the November 2020 will have to fill a fresh examination form and apply at the relevant time.
