Coronavirus in India: 5 Schools in Delhi NCR closed As Preventive Measure

Five Schools in Delhi NCR region to remain closed as a precautionary measure after a parent of one of the children tested positive for Coronavirus.
After a parent tested positive for CoVID – 19 in the Delhi-NCR region, five schools have been shut down as a precautionary measure. Forty students have also been kept under isolation as a preventive measure.
Starting yesterday, i.e. from March 3, 2020, two schools in Noida, Sriram Millennium School and Shiv Nadar School will remain closed till March 9, 2020, in order to sanitize and clean the premises. The parent who detected positive for CoVID – 19 had recently visited Italy. Other branches of the schools in South Delhi and Gurgaon have also decided to advance their spring break as a precautionary step.
It all started when a parent of a student studying in Sriram Millennium School Noida was detected with the virus. The concerned person after his return from Italy visited a doctor in Mayur Vihar but was cleared in the initial reports. However, the symptoms progressed and he was later detected with the CoVID – 19.
Fearing the spread of the virus outbreak, the parent community of the school has decided not to send their children for the classes in the school.
The Union Health Ministry, after the detection of this first case, had reached out to all the people who were directly in contact with the affected parent of the kid. Tests have been conducted to evaluate if any of the parents or kids are affected, and they are advised to self – quarantine for a period of 14 days.
The examinations have been postponed in view of this event, the dates for the same would be announced soon.
The Coronavirus which had so far not impacted India is slowly surfacing across the nation. However, the Union Health Minister, as well as Prime Minister, has ensured that the situation is under control, and there was no need to panic.
