Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to reopen the schools partially in Goa for Classes 10 and 12 from November 21 onwards. Schools will reopen after a gap of 7 months.

Mumbai: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has decided to recommence classes for students of Std 10 and 12 beginning November 21. Schools will reopen for the students who are currently in the 10th and 12th Class from 21st November 2020 onwards. The government has instructed school authorities to follow proper unlock guidelines and the safety precaution and follow all Covid-19 protocols. Also, the school administration shall ensure that the students wear masks compulsorily and shall also arrange for the thermal scanning of the students on a daily basis.
The decision to reopen schools from November 21 for classes 10 and 12 has been taken after consulting school management, teachers and parents too. The decision has been taken by Promod Sawant state Education Minister and officials of the Education Department.
The classrooms and the washrooms also require to be disinfected and sanitized. Also, the social distancing norms should be followed while making the seating arrangements for the students.
The number of Covid-19 cases has since fallen and is lower than the cases of September and October. Also, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that for Class 10 and 12 students, it is necessary to cover and complete the syllabus for exams. Without completing the importnat syllabus, students will not be able to appear for the final board exams.
No final decision has been taken for restarting other primary classes for now, the chief minister said.
