Gujarat Board: Class IX, XI exams between April 1 and 11

Highlights for Gujarat Class IX, XI exams:
- Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Examinations have been preponed.
- Class IX and XI exams will be conducted between April 1st to April 11th, 2020.
- Summer vacations will start from May 4th to June 7th.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has announced that the state board’s exam for class IX and XI will be conducted from April 1st to April 11th. Earlier, the same exams were scheduled to happen from April 7th to April 18th this year.
The State Board took this decision so as to prepone its new academic session to April 20th from this year. The State Government wants to bring uniformity of academic sessions between state and central boards.
The Central Board of Secondary Education board begins it’s an academic session from April 1st, whereas, the GSHSEB thus far starts its a session from June 1st. This is why the exam dates have been revised for GSHSEB IX and XI to bridge the academic session gap and bring uniformity between the two boards. Preponing the exams will ensure that the academic session for the State board will now start from April 20th instead of June 1st. The CBSE board will continue starting its new session from April 1st as last year.
After starting the new session from the revised date, i.e, April 20th, the GSHSEB board students will get their summer vacations from May 4th to 7th June.
A few days ago, Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board also released the hall tickets for class 12th from Science stream.
