Mumbai, Maharashtra:  As reported by TelanganaToday, T. Harish Rao the finance minister of the state of Telangana in an inauguration program at Government Junior College in Bejjanki Mandal headquarters expressed his discomfort. The minister while inaugurating the mid-day meal program said that “they will also launch an evening snack facility to assist college management so that they can conduct special classes for students.”

During his presence in the ceremony, he came to know that students are skipping classes. Also, he came to know that 49 students on Wednesday and 29 on Thursday skipped classes. After knowing this the minister said that “I will write letters to parents of all the intermediate students in the district explaining them about the importance of sending their wards to college every day.”

Furthermore, he suggested the Regional Inspection Officer and Principals involve the parents and Sarpanchs to improve attendance in colleges. Moreover, he concentrating the education officials to make regular visits to inspect the working of colleges. The minister also gets information about the poor performance of students in various subjects like Commerce, Economics, and Civics.

So, he instructed the principals and staff to conduct special classes during the evening hours for improving the performance and pass percentage of the students. In his speech at the ceremony, he also educated students about the need to stay away from electronic gadgets and social networking sites, namely TikTok and the sites that are related to it until their examinations are over.

Besides, he secures that if the college records 100 percent pass students then he will sanction Rs 40 Lakh grant for building additional classrooms in the college. Along with Rao Roja Sharma (Zila Parishad Chairperson), ManaKonduru, Rasamayi Balakisha(MLA), Naradasu Lakshman (MLC), D Manjula Srikanth (Sarpanch) were present in the inauguration ceremony. After the event, Rao also took part in the Mandal Parishad General Body Meeting.
