ICAI 2021: ICAI postpones the CA Intermediate and CA Final Exams due to the COVID-19 surge

ICAI has postponed the CA Intermediate as well as CA Final exams due in May 2021 due to the COVID-19 surge across the country.

Mumbai: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the postponement of CA Intermediate and CA Final exams 2021. The ICAI took this decision in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation across the country. These exams were due to be held in the month of May 2021.

The CA Intermediate exams (old and new course) were scheduled to start on 22^nd May while the CA Final exams were to start on 21^st May 2021. However, the institute shall announce the new exam dates at least 25 days before the start of the examinations.

ICAI tweeted, “Important Announcement regarding Postponement of the ICAI Chartered Accountants Examinations – Final & Intermediate Course which are scheduled to be held in May 2021 in view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.”

The institute shall review the COVID-19 situation across the country before it finalizes new exam dates. It shall announce the new examination dates on the official website of ICAI.

The notice issued by the ICAI on exams read,“(The) situation of the pandemic will be reviewed (COVID cases, MHA guidelines, Centre and State Government directions) and fresh dates will be intimated to students. While doing so, a notice of at least 25 days will be given before the start of the examinations. The Candidates are advised to note the above and stay in touch with the website of the Institute, www.icai.org.”

On 26^th April, the students were allowed to fill the CA Foundation Exam forms without Class 12 final exam admit cards. The students shall send their Class 12 board exam roll numbers to the institute later as they have not received them due to the postponement of exams. It has also permitted the students to upload an Aadhar card instead of some documents as they are unable to get those due to COVID 19-related restrictions.
