IIT JEE Advanced 2021 Exams: Union Education Minister, Mr Pokhriyal announces exam dates, eligibility criteria and number of attempts

Highlights on IIT JEE Advanced 2021 Exams:
As per the announcement by the Union Education Minister, IIT JEE Advanced will be conducted on 3rd July 2021 by IIT, Kharagpur. The eligibility criteria have also been relaxed. However, JEE Advanced will be held in a single session and will have only one attempt, unlike JEE Mains.
Mumbai: Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Union Education Minister, has announced the Exam dates for JEE Advanced 2021 and also the relaxation in the eligibility criteria for the same. Pokhriyal went live on 7th January 2021 via his official Twitter handle to announce the exam date. IIT JEE Advanced 2021 will be conducted on 3rd July 2021 by IIT, Kharagpur.
The engineering aspirants were requesting the Education minister to relax the eligibility criteria and also multiple sessions for JEE Advanced 2021 exams. Pokhriyal’s live session proved helpful for the students.
As per the revised eligibility criteria, students who have cleared Class 12th are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2021. Earlier, the candidates were required to score a minimum of 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) in Class 12 for being eligible to appear in JEE Advanced exams. The eligibility criteria have been relaxed owing to the pandemic situation across the country. Last year also owing to the lockdown and pandemic outbreak, the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced was dropped.
However, to the disappointment of the students, the education minister also announced that JEE Advanced will be conducted in a single session and will have only one attempt, unlike JEE Mains. He further added that JEE Advanced 2021 is the gateway for admission to IITs which are premier technical institutes of the country. JEE Advanced 2021 will be held at 222 cities across the country.
