IIT JEE Mains 2021: NTA postpones the May 2021 session amid the COVID-19 surge

Amid, the deadly second wave of Coronavirus, IIT JEE Mains May 2021 session has been postponed by NTA until further announcement.
Mumbai: Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, The Union Minister of Education, took to his Twitter handle to announce the postponement of the IIT JEE Mains 2021 May session. The dates of registration and exams of the IIT JEE Mains 2021 April and May session will soon be updated on the official website.
Earlier, the registrations for IIT JEE Mains 2021 May session were to begin from 3rd May but were delayed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The April session of the IIT JEE Mains 2021 was also postponed earlier due to the spike in COVID-19 cases. The May session of the IIT JEE Mains 2021 is also now being postponed due to the second wave of coronavirus, increasing patients and deaths.
The dates of registration for the May session of the IIT JEE Mains 2021 were announced in advance so that they do not clash with the dates of the Class 12th Board exams. The registration was to begin from 3rd May 2021. However, owing to the COVID-19 surge, CBSE, ICSE and various State Boards have postponed the Class 12th Exams 2021.
IIT JEE Mains 2021 February and March session were successfully held by the NTA after following the COVID-19 protocol. In the February session, a total of 620978 candidates and in the March session, a total of 556248 candidates had appeared for the exams. NTA, has, however, not released the registration data for the April 2021 session.
