Mumbai, Maharashtra: In a press release, The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the registration dates for the April JEE Main 2020 examination. Registration starts from February 7, 2020, and will be open until March 7, 2020. The exam will be held on April 5, 2020, April 7, 2020, April 8, 2020, April 9, 2020, and April 11, 2020.
According to a press release by the NTA, candidates who missed the January 2020 examination or wish to re-appear to improve their scores, can register for the April JEE Main 2020 exam. If a candidate has appeared for the January 2020 exam, then it is NOT mandatory for him/her to appear for the April 2020 exam too.
The JEE Main 2020 final rank will be determined based on the better of the two scores – January 2020 score and April 2020 score. In case there is a tie in the rank, then candidates with better scores in Mathematics will be given preference.
Further, if the Mathematics scores are tied too, then Physics scores will be compared. Lastly, if the tie does not break, then the older candidate will be given a higher rank. NTA calculates percentile scores based on the relative performance of all candidates that take for the exam.
NTA transforms the marks obtained into a scale that ranges from 0 to 100 for each session. It is calculated up to seven decimal places to reduce the number of ties between candidates.
