JEE Main 2020 Begins Today. NTA highlights some important guidelines for students appearing for JEE Main 2020. It lists the thing that candidates CAN carry to the examination hall and the things they CAN’T. It also details some recommendations for candidates to make the examination process smooth.

JEE Main 2020: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important advisory for candidates appearing for JEE Main 2020 scheduled to be held today – January 06, 2020. Earlier this month the NTA had issued the admit cards for the exam on its official website. 

In the advisory, the NTA lists instructions for candidates to ensure that the examination is held in a smooth and fair manner. It lists the following key aspects:

Admit Card instructions for JEE Main 2020 Exam

Candidates need to carry a print out of the admit card with them to the examination center. They need to take the printout on an A4-sized paper. Candidates are also instructed to go through the important details on the admit card carefully like the venue of the examination, date and time of the examination, reporting time, and gate closing time.

Items to be carried in JEE Main 2020 Exam

Apart from the admit card, candidates need to carry:

A passport size photograph (it needs to be the same as affixed on the online application form). Candidates will be required to paste the photograph on the attendance sheet at the examination center.

An original Photo ID proof like Aadhaar Card (with the photo), PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence, Passport, Class XII board admit card with a photo or Bank Passbook with a photo. The authorities will check the details on the ID proof with those on the admit card.

Items NOT allowed at the examination center for JEE Main Exam 2020

Candidates CANNOT carry items like Instrument or Geometry or Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, any kind of Paper or Stationery or Textual material, Eatables and Water, Mobile Phone, Ear Phone, Microphone, Pager, Calculator, DocuPen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder, or carry any type of watch including Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices.
