Highlights on JEE Mains 2021:

JEE Mains 2021 candidates need to submit Category Certificates for the category which they have opted in the application form. In the absence of Category Certificates, they can submit a self-declaration form stating their category status.

Mumbai: The candidates aspiring to appear in JEE Mains 2021 and are getting themselves registered for the JEE Mains 2021 exams will now also need to submit their category certificate as per the directions of the NTA.

The exam authority has confirmed the requirement regarding the submission of category certificates in the FAQs section on the official website of JEE Mains. In the FAQs list on the official website, the candidates are asked to submit their category certificate mandatorily in order to conclude the registrations.

Prior to this, the aspirants could opt for category selection in the registration form without providing any documentary proof or category certificate for the same. However, from this year onwards the candidates need to provide category certificate to register in a specific category.

This mandatory requirement to submit Category Certificates has become a severe problem for some aspirants. Due to the pandemic situation across the country, some of them are unable to arrange the Category Certificates.

In this case, the exam authority has provided them with an alternative. They can thus submit a self-declaration mentioning their category status. They need to submit the self-declaration or the Category Certificates by May 2021.
