Maharashtra Board: State Education Minister announces SSC and HSC Exam 2021 to be held in April and May

Highlights on SSC and HSC Exam 2021:
Varsha Gaikwad, Maharashtra School Education Minister announced that the SSC exams will be conducted between 29th April and 31st May 2021 and HSC exams will be conducted between 23rd April and 29th May 2021. MSBSHSE has also reduced the overall syllabus by 25% this year.
Mumbai: Varsha Gaikwad, Maharashtra School Education Minister declared that Maharashtra SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class12) exams will be held in April and May 2021.
During a media interaction, Gaikwad said “the written exams for Class 12 will be held between April 23 and May 29, and for Class 10 between April 29 and May 31. We are trying to declare the results of Classes 12 and 10 by July-end and August-end, respectively.”
The written SSC exams will be held from 29th April to 31st May 2021 while the written HSC exams will be held from 23rd April to 29th May 2021. The results for the SSC are likely to be released by July-end and for HSC are likely to be released by August-end.
The practical exams for SSC will be held between 9th April and 29th April 2021 whereas for HSC it will be held between 1st April and 22nd April 2021.
The Minister also said that as per the data available on 18th January 2021, around 38% of students were attending the in-person classes. MSBSHSE has also reduced the overall syllabus by 25% for the exams.
This year the SSC and HSC board exams have been delayed by nearly three months due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, lockdown and school closures. Usually, SSC and HSC exams are held in the months of February and March.
Approximately 17 lakh students will be appearing for SSC Exams this year while approximately 13 lakh students will be appearing for HSC exams.
