NEET 2020: Release of Notice for 15% AIQ ‘State of Eligibility’ by NTA

Mumbai, Maharashtra: The release of official notice for candidates with regards to the application for NEET has now taken place by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Further, there is a clarification of doubts of candidates about the ‘State of Eligibility’ for 15% AIQ seats. Moreover, this clarification has come via an official notification.
According to the notice, candidates are free to select any state/UT for admission purposes under the scheme of AIQ. Further, registration for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) has been taking place by the NTA from December 2, 2019. Above all, Candidates desiring application for the NEET exam on May 3, 2020, must register by December 31, 2019.

According to the official notification by NTA, a number of queries about the filling of the ‘State of Eligibility’ have come up. Responding to this, “it is clarified that all the candidates are eligible for this quota independent of their choice under the state of eligibility. Therefore, the candidates can fill in any state/UT (eg. state/UT of their Class XII school, Home state/UT, etc.)”, according to the NTA NEET official notice.
Students can certainly fill any state/UT for an All India Quota admission. Moreover, there is no domicile requirement for admission to MBBS/BDS seats under the 15% AIQ seat.
There is a special mention in the notice regarding the state of eligibility under AIQ seats for candidates in Jammu and Kashmir. Moreover, there is no sharing of seats by the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir for All India Quota seats. Consequently, candidates from Jammu and Kashmir are not eligible to participate under AIQ admissions.
In the event of someone claiming their eligibility, then they must submit the form of self-declaration. Moreover, the generation of this form will happen automatically with the confirmation page. Subsequently, one must submit this self-declaration form at the time of counseling.
