NEET News: Kolkata Metro to Run Special Services for NEET Aspirants

NEET News 2020: Kolkata Metro is planning to run special services for NEET aspirants on 13th September 2020. This has been done to ferry medical aspirants for the medical entrance test. The Metro Railway spokesperson, Indrani Banerjee, confirmed the news.
Mumbai, Maharashtra: The Metro Railways spokesperson of Kolkata, Indrani Banerjee, confirmed that the special services of Kolkata Metro will be run exclusively for medical entrance examinees and their guardians.
The special metro will be run on 13 September 2020. All the NEET 2020 aspirants can board special Metro Trains through their admit card or hall tickets. They have to show it at the entry point. Ever since the Lockdown 1.0 from March 2020, the normal service of Kolkata Metro had been suspended. It was done to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
However, now, Kolkata Metro will allow aspirants to appear for the NEET 2020 exam with their help. The accompanying guardians and parents will also be given permission to board the special metro.
Further, Ms. Banerjee said that the metro will not issue any token to commuters. Only the printed card tickets will be issued to all the bonafide students and their parents or guardians.
Further details shared by the Kolkata Metro state that a total of 66 trains will run on 13 September 2020. 33 each in up and down directions for ferrying NEET 2020 aspirants to their respective exam centres throughout the city.
The two-terminal stations from which the trains will operate are Noapara and Kavi Subhash. The trains will be available between 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. They will be made available at an interval of 15 minutes frequency.
This decision has proven to be a big relief for students. In the scheduled NEET exams from 1 to 6 September 2020, a lot of students, boarding the Kolkata Metro, faced trouble in reaching their respective exam centres. Thus, this service will be beneficial for NEET aspirants and their guardians.
