Mumbai: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2021 is scheduled to be held on 12th September. It is the single medical entrance exam in India. Students are campaigning on social media platforms such as Twitter with the hashtags #postponeNEETUG and #PleaseRescheduleNEETUG and are requesting the National Testing Agency (NTA) to postpone or reschedule NEET 2021.
The reason behind this is that the date of NEET-UG 2021 exam date is near to a number of other national and state-level entrance tests and board exams. They are now urging Dharmendra Pradhan, the Education minister to postpone or reschedule the NEET-UG 2021 exam.
The NEET-UG exam 2021 application form correction window facility has also been closed on 14th August and thus the period for registering for the exam is over.
Several state entrance exams such as MHT-CET 2021 (1st phase- 4th to 10th September, 2nd phase -14th to 20th September), CoMEDK exam (14th September), and OJEE 2021 (6th to 18th September), ICAR-UG 2021 (7th,8th and 13th September) have dates very close to NEET-UG 2021.
Also, CBSE will be conducting the Class 12 improvement and compartment exams from 25th August to 15th September.
NEET –UG 2021 Admit Card will be released 3 days prior to the exam. Students are of the opinion that this will also cause a lot of chaos. They are also arguing that when IIT JEE is postponed to be held in October, why can’t NEET-UG be also postponed. They are requesting the education minister to postpone the NEET-UG by at least 20-25 days so that they can prepare well.
