Punjab Board 2021: Class 5, 8 and 10 exams 2021 cancelled while Class 12 exams postponed

Highlights on Punjab Board 2021:

PSEB has announced the cancellation of Class 5^th, 8^th, and 10^th Exams 2021 and the postponement of Class 12^th Exams 2021 in view of the spike in the coronavirus cases.

Mumbai: Following the announcement of the CBSE board to cancel Class 10^th exams 2021 and postpone Class 12^th exams 2021, the PSEB (Punjab State Education Board) has also cancelled Class 5^th, 8^th, and 10^th Exams 2021 and postponed Class 12^th Exams 2021. The Punjab Government took this decision due to the surge in coronavirus cases across the country.

The Punjab government has also announced that the students of Class 5^th, 8^th, and 10^th will be promoted without examinations. However, Class 12^th Exams will be held later after the situation normalizes. Previously, Punjab Board Class 12^th Exams were to be held from 20^th April to 4^th May 2021.

Captain Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister of Punjab, took to his official Twitter handle and tweeted, “Amid the continuing #Covid19 surge, it is unsafe for our children to take Board examinations. We have decided to promote all Class 5, 8 and 10 students without examinations. Class 12 State Board examinations have been postponed and will be conducted later once the situation improves.”

However, the students are advised to keep checking the official website of PSEB for the latest updates and announcements regarding the Punjab Board Class 12^th Exam dates.
