Mumbai: The Punjab School Education Department declares the dates for the evaluation or assessment of pre-primary students. The evaluation will be held from 18th November 2020 to 21st November 2020. Earlier, the students of Class 1 and 2 were examined thrice in a year in order to check their physical as well as mental development.
But, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this examination could not be carried out. The officials of the School Education Department have issued special instructions to the teachers for conducting the evaluation of the students.
The Information and Public Relations Department has released an official statement to the press in this regard. As per the official statement, the students are not required to come to the school. The teachers need to coordinate with the students and conduct the evaluation via a telephonic call or a video call. Also, they need not evaluate more than 15 students in a day.
The head office has sent the questions and thus the teachers are instructed to ask only these questions from the children. They need to record the assessment in the prescribed Performa and share it with the parents. The state education department has also sent daily activities for the pre-primary students through slides and short videos.
However, the Punjab government has reopened the schools for the students of Class 9 to 12 from 2nd November 2020 onwards. The schools are instructed to follow the safety precautions and guidelines properly.
