Ecosystem
All organisms such as animals, plants, humans, and their surroundings interact with each other and support a balance in nature.
Components of an ecosystem
In nature, there are two types of components:
- Biotic components: comprising living organisms
- Abiotic components: comprising non-living factors like wind, rainfall, temperature, soil, etc.
The interaction between abiotic and biotic components constitutes the ecosystem.
All organisms interact with each other and with their surroundings for their growth, reproduction and other processes.
Types of ecosystem
Ecosystems can be natural and man-made.
Natural ecosystems: Forests, Ponds, lakes, desert, etc.
Man-made (Artificial) ecosystems: Gardens, dams, crop fields, aquarium, etc.
