#### Chapter 1 – Physical World

In this chapter, we focus on the core concepts and the foundation of physics. We are introduced to various theories by world-famous physicians from around the globe like Newton, Faraday, Ampere, etc.

#### Chapter 2 – Units and Measurement

Here students are introduced to the international system of units and its history. They will learn about concepts such as base units and derived units. There are also numerical problems regarding volume and surface area of objects.

#### Chapter 3 – Motion in a Straight Line

This is the introduction of Kinetics. We will learn about rectilinear motion, reference points, path lengths, relative velocity, acceleration, and other such interesting concepts. There are also some basic mathematical problems for the students to practice.

#### Chapter 4 – Motion in a Plane

Students will learn about the differences between scalar and vector quantities. The chapter covers topics such as equality, addition, and multiplication of vectors, angular frequency and velocity, displacement and more.

#### Chapter 5 – Law of Motion

This chapter further explains the motion of an object and the effect external forces can have on it. We will learn about the direction and magnitude of the force and the effects of gravitation. There are numerical problems and graphical representation to calculate the time and speed of moving objects.

#### Chapter 6 – Work, Energy, and Power

In previous classes, students have already studied the concepts of energy, power, and work. Here we will study the relationship between them. We will also learn about scalar products and their laws.

#### Chapter 7 – Systems of Power and Rotational Motion

In this chapter, we learn the theoretical concept of rotational motion and also the mathematical method of its calculation. The NCERT solutions will make the concepts clear and deepen the students understanding of the chapter.

#### Chapter 8 – Gravitation

The basics of gravitation are pretty clear to students by class 11. Now they learn more nuanced concepts such as the universal law of gravitation, gravitational constant, Kepler’s Law, escape speeds, earth satellites, etc. There are also problems for the calculation of time, speed, distance with regards to gravitation.

#### Chapter 9 – Mechanical Properties of Solids

Here students will learn about certain common physical properties of solids such as density, elasticity, tensile strength, volume strain, etc. We will see the real-life applications of certain solids such as steel and copper.

#### Chapter 10 – Mechanical Properties of Fluids

This chapter includes the physical or mechanical properties of both liquids and gasses. It focuses on how fluids behave differently and various different environmental conditions. There are some basic numerical problems and the application of Bernoulli’s equation.

#### Chapter 11 – Thermal Properties of Matter

In this chapter, we will learn the concept and definitions of heat and temperature. We will learn how different matter behaves differently when the heat is applied to it. There are some mathematical problems about the conversion of celsius and kelvin.

#### Chapter 12 – Thermodynamics

This chapter introduces the students to thermodynamics, which is the study of heat and conversion of heat into other energy. We will learn about the laws of thermal energy with some great examples.

#### Chapter 13 – Kinetic Energy

We will study the various scientists studying kinetic theory since the 19th century – Newton, Issac, Maxwell, Boyle, and their findings. Students will also study the behavior of gasses and their fast-moving molecules.

#### Chapter 14 – Oscillations

Students will study in detail about oscillations and oscillatory motion. They will need to learn about periodic motion and harmonic motion and problems regarding them as well as their graphical representation.

#### Chapter 15 – Waves

This chapter focuses on the movement of waves along with important terms and concepts such as transverse waves, longitudinal waves, wavelength. angular wavenumber, the reflection of waves, etc.

**Solved Questions For You:**

**Question 1. In order that the heat flows one part of a solid to another part, what is required?**

**uniform density****temperature gradient****density gradient****uniform temperature**

**Answer:Â **As heat flows from higher temperature to lower temperature, so a temperature gradient is required.

**Question 2. How much work can be obtained from 100 calories of heat energy?**

**100***J***420***J***42***J***4200***J*

**Answer:**

1 calorie = 4.2*J*

∴ Work done = heat obtained in calories × 4.2

or *w *=100 × 4.2 = 420*J*

**Question 3. There is a hole in the middle of a copper plate when heating the plate, the diameter of the hole would:**

**always increase****always decrease****remain the same****none of these**

**Answer:Â **A metal expands on heating. If a hole is made in the metal plate, the hole will also expand due to the expansion of the material. It can be explained by considering the air in the region of the hole and that air will also expand on heating. Therefore, the diameter of the hole increases always.

**Question 4: Choose the correct statements from the following:**

**This question has multiple correct options**

**All bodies emit thermal radiations at all temperatures.****Thermal radiations are electromagnetic waves.****Thermal radiations are not reflected from a mirror****Thermal radiations travel in free space with the velocity of light**

**Answer: **A body absorbs and emits thermal radiations at all temperatures except absolute zero, hence option  is incorrect.

Thermal radiations like all forms of radiation are electromagnetic in nature. Hence option  is correct.

All electromagnetic radiations reflect off mirrors, hence option  is incorrect.

All the electromagnetic radiation like thermal radiations travel with the velocity of the speed of light. Hence option  is correct.
