1 – Lines and Line Segment
In this subtopic, we will see the basic definition of a line and a line segment. We will learn to draw and differentiate between the two. Then we will learn more about some types of geometric line figures – rays, perpendicular lines, parallel lines, etc. We will learn about their special properties and how to draw them as well.
2- Angles
Next, we move onto angles. We will learn the definition of an angle and other important terms like the degree of an angle. Subsequently, based on this we will learn about various types of angles – acute angle, obtuse angle, right angle, supplementary angles, complementary angles, etc. We will not only learn their properties but also how to construct such angles.
3 – Polygons
Then we will move onto more complex shapes known as polygons, i.e. any 2-d shape that is formed by lines. So squares, triangles, circles are all polygons. We shall learn about their properties, their angles, their various types. Students will also be introduced to the basic formula of polygons and some numerical problems based on this.
