The Constitution of India gives it’s every citizen equal rights in all parts. Also, every citizen is equal in the judgments of the law. But, the truth is all citizen are not treated according to how the Constitution has defined it.

Marginalization is known as abandoning the right and demands of a particular community or section of society. Also, they steal their services and chances so that they can enjoy them for themselves. This occurrence starts a chain reaction which later causes more damage to the marginalized community. Also, their demands, desires, and dreams are overheard and overlooked by society.

Adivasis and Marginalisation

Generally, the term Adivasis translates as ‘original inhabitants’. Also, the Adivasis are the foremost habitants of our country, i.e. the indigenous people of the country. They live in or closest to forests and depend on the forest for food and shelter. Apart from that, they have a different set of rules and behaviors in comparison to contemporary society. They have their own idioms and language, and a form of autonomous government for their own inborn practices and religions.

After the dawn of industrialization in India, they were made to leave their land by force and exploits by the government and rulers. In general, Adivasis lives in the state of Jharkhand, Orissa, and states of North-east India. Also, they live in minerals rich areas that have an abundance of natural resources. But due to mining and timber industries and commercial farming forced them away from their own land and works.

Minorities and marginalization

Minorities refer to a cluster of people. They are less than the majority and differentiated by race, caste, religion, language, and beliefs. Basically, they are present in India but in a much smaller quantity than the majority. Sikhs, Jains, Buddhist, Muslims, Christian, and others are part of the minority community.

The Constitution of India provides the minority Fundamental Rights. As well as Protection and Safeguard against discrimination. But in certain scenarios, the minorities are exploited and marginalized. Among the minorities, Muslims have the slowest socio-economic development. Also, they are behind in literacy too. Other concerns related to minorities especially Muslims are. Poverty, lack of basic facilities and employment in government and public sector.

So, to tackle these obstacles and bringing the marginalized to the same level of society as the majority. We first have to understand marginalization.
