This is because since she has suffered from malaria and is in the recovery phase, it means that she is still not completely diseases-free. Fasting affects the immune system as the body is deprived of essential nutrients required to maintain a healthy body. Chickenpox is a contagious disease, this also makes her susceptible to contracting the disease while taking care of a person suffering from chickenpox.
