Question 1: What do you observe when H2S gas is passed through cadmium chloride solution? Name the type of reaction:
- Double displacement
Answer: When H2S gas i.e. hydrogen sulphide gas is passed through cadmium chloride solution, yellow colored precipitate of cadmium sulphide (CdS) is formed and aqueous hydrochloric acid (HCl) is formed.
Question 2: Name the type of following chemical reaction.
- Displacement Reaction
- Double Displacement
Answer: A double displacement reaction is a type of reaction where part of one reactant is replaced by part of another reactant.
Double displacement reactions take the form:
AB + CD → AD + CB

Identify the type of reaction.
- Decomposition Reaction.
- Double displacement Reaction.
- Displacement Reaction.
- Neutralization Reaction.
Two reactants exchange their ions to form new compounds called as double displacement reaction.
Question 4: What is observed when a solution of sodium sulphate is added to a solution of barium chloride taken in a test tube? Write equation for the chemical reaction involved and name the type of reaction in this case.
Answer: These two solutions reacts to form a white insoluble precipitate.
