Question 1. What other diseases can be caused by mosquito bites?
Answer: Diseases like dengue, chikungunya, filaria etc. are caused by mosquito bite.
Question 2. What do you do in your house to protect yourself from mosquitoes? Also, find out form your friends about what they do?
Answer: We maintain fly screens on windows, doors and vents. we also use insecticides, sprays and repellents both inside and outside of the house to kill mosquitoes. Also, keep the house clean and make sure that there is no stagnant water kept in the house.
Question 3. Which diseases are spread by flies and how?
Answer: Flies spread dysentery, cholera, typhoid, anthrax etc. Flies are easily attracted by filth. They sit on dirty and filthy matters. Again, when these sit upon the food, microbes are deposited on the food from there these can enter the human body.
Question 4. What can you do so that mosquitoes do not breed in your house, school and neighbourhood?
Answer: This can be done by:
(i) Not allowing the area around us to get waterlogged.
(ii) Regularly cleaning the coolers and water tanks.
(iii) Spraying DDT and oil in drains, pits etc.
(iv) Cultivating fishes in nearby ditches, pits, ponds etc.
