Deciduous Forests

Tropical Rainforests

Tropical rainforests are found in areas around the equator. They include Central and South America, Australia, Africa, and southern Asia. These forests have a very hot and humid climate where the inhabitants adapt to it accordingly.

While the percentage of rainforests covering the earth’s surface may be low, they are home to almost half of the species of flora and fauna throughout the world.

These forests consist of animals like spider monkeys, macaws, gorillas, constrictors, sloths, toucans, and jaguars.

Other than that, you will also find reptiles and amphibians like frogs and snakes. In addition, there are also various types of insects present in abundance over here.

Temperate Rainforests

Temperate rainforests are not that common and found only in some areas like New Zealand and Chile. Moreover, you will also find them on the northeast coast of North America ranging from southern Alaska to California.

The forest animals in their area include coyotes, bears, blue grouse, deer. They also have birds and one of the most common ones is Clark’s nutcracker.

Boreal Forests

These types of forests are found in North America, Asia, and Europe. The climate in these forests is extremely cold. Moreover, it also experiences heavy snowfall throughout. Thus, forest animals have to adapt to this climate.

In these forests, you will mostly find elk, bobcats, snowshoe hares, Amur tigers, porcupines and many more.
