CBSE Class 10 Science Chapter 13 – Magnetic Effect of Electric Current Key Notes

CBSE Class 10 Science Chapter 13 is Magnetic Effect of Electric Current. We are all familiar with the heating effects of electric current. However, there are other effects of electricity. A very prominent effect of electric current is the magnetic effect. Furthermore, an electric-current carrying wire can behave like a magnet. Consequently, this proves that electricity and magnetism are linked to each other.

A deflection occurs in a compass needle when it is brought near to a bar magnet. Moreover, the compass needle is a small bar magnet and its ends point approximately toward the directions of north and south. The end which points towards the north direction is called the North Pole and vice-versa. The observation of the experts is that the like poles repel and unlike poles of magnets tend to attract each other. Most noteworthy, there is an exertion of influence by the magnet in the region surrounding it. Consequently, the iron fillings experience a force.
