The kangaroo puts up a condition that the duck needs to sit steady at the end of his tail so that he can balance himself. The duck promises his friend, kangaroo that he will sit quiet and still and will utter nothing except ‘Quack’.
After giving a considerable thought, the kangaroo accepts the duck’s request. He tells the duck that there is only one problem. The feet of the duck were unpleasantly wet and cold and will give him rheumatism.
After hearing this, the duck says that he has already thought of a solution to this problem. He says that he has already purchased four pairs of woolen socks for his feet. These socks will fit his web-feet properly. The duck says not only this, but he has also purchased a cloak to keep the cold out. He says besides all this, he shall also smoke a cigar every day so as to remain warm.
