18. FAQs on NTSE 2022

Question 1:  How is the scholarship amount credited to the winners and are there any terms and conditions for the same?

Answer: The scholarship amount is paid directly to the NTSE awardees through online bank transfer or by sending a bank draft if the candidate does not have online banking facilities activated. The awardees receive the scholarship payment only if they submit the claim bill (Performa found on official website) to the NCERT signed by the school principal, along with the marksheet of the previous exam. Payment will be done for a maximum of 12 months in an academic session, and the payment is made on an annual basis. For manual payments, the NCERT does the payment between July to June, and for online payments, payment is done from April to March.

Question 2: Is the rate of scholarship same at all levels of education?

Answer: The rates of scholarships are different. For higher secondary level, Rs. 1250 is paid per month. For graduate and postgraduate studies, Rs. 2000 per month is paid and for PhD, the scholarship rate is decided based on the norms of UGC.

Answer: If you are receiving scholarships from other sources, then you will have to choose only one of these.
