NCERT Solutions for Class 11 Maths Chapter 16
NCERT Solutions for Class 11 Maths Chapter 16 Probability will help the students to strengthen their basics and to increase their confidence level. These NCERT solutions are valuable to aid the students in their assignments and also for competitive exams. It will definitely help them to strengthen their foundation on Probability.
Let us discuss the sub-topics in detail.
16.1- Introduction:
Probability of an event is the ratio of the number of outcomes favorable to the event, to the total number of equally likely outcomes.
16.2:Â Random Experiments:
Random experiment satisfies the following conditions. First, it has more than one possible outcome. And second, it is not possible to predict the outcome in advance.
16.2.1: Outcomes and sample space:
The outcome is the possible result of a random experiment in the experiment. Its values belong to a set known as Sample Space.
16.3: Event:
A possible result of a random experiment is called the event.
16.3.1: Occurrence of an event:
The event will occur with a certain favorable number.
16.3.2: Types of events:
Events are classified as a sure event, impossible event, simple event, etc.
16.3.3: Algebra of events:
The student will learn some algebraic theorems to help to find the probability.
16.3.4: Mutually exclusive events:
Two events are called mutually exclusive events if the occurrence of any one of them excludes the occurrence of the other event.
16.3.5: Exhaustive events:
This is the set of events consisting of all possibilities of events to occur.
16.4: Axiomatic Approach to Probability:
The axiomatic approach is the other way of describing the probability of an event. In this approach, some axioms will depict the methods of probabilities.
16.4.1- Probability of an event:
Probability of an event is defined as the chance of occurrence of an event
16.4.2- Probabilities of equally likely outcomes:
Probability of an event is the ratio of favorable outcome to total outcome.
16.4.3 Probability of the event ‘A or B’:
This is the probability where anyone out of two events will occur. It will give the formula for it.
16.4.4 Probability of event ‘not A’:
This is the probability where an event will not occur. So it is like a complimentary event. It will give the formula for it.
